Tile & Flooring Demolition in Port St. Lucie, FL

Tile, thinset, wood, vinyl and carpet removed with dust control, leaving a slab ready for new flooring.

Tile removal is the dustiest job in residential remodeling, and most of the complaints homeowners have about it come down to containment rather than the tile itself. We run vacuum-shrouded equipment and sealed barriers so the silica dust stays in the work area instead of settling in every closet and air handler in the house.

Across Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach and the Treasure Coast we remove ceramic, porcelain, travertine and marble set on slab, along with engineered and solid wood, glued vinyl, sheet goods and carpet with tack strip. The hard part is not the tile — it is the thinset underneath.

A slab left with ridges of old thinset will telegraph through vinyl plank and will void most large-format tile warranties. We grind the residual thinset flat so your installer starts on a clean, flat substrate.

// HOW IT RUNS

OUR PROCESS.

  1. 01

    Containment

    Poly walls, zippered doors and HVAC returns sealed before anything starts.

  2. 02

    Removal

    Ride-on or walk-behind removal machines sized to the room and the tile.

  3. 03

    Thinset grinding

    Diamond grinding to knock the residual mortar flat, with HEPA extraction.

  4. 04

    Load-out

    Tile is heavy — it goes straight to the container as we go.

  5. 05

    Final vacuum

    HEPA vacuum and wipe-down so the installer walks into a clean slab.

// FREQUENTLY ASKED

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

How much dust will there be?

With shrouded equipment and sealed containment, very little escapes the work area. Uncontained tile removal is what coats an entire house.

Do I need the thinset ground off?

For LVP and large-format tile, yes — flatness tolerance matters and leftover ridges telegraph or crack the new floor.

Can you remove tile from stairs and bathrooms?

Yes, though tight areas are hand work and priced by the area rather than by the square foot.

How fast can you clear a whole house?

A typical 1,500 to 2,500 square foot single-story home is one to two days including thinset grinding.
